The research activities of the SAAS group cover modelling, supervision and control of dynamic systems with a wide range of applications, from aeronautics (drones, more electric aircraft) to energy systems (wind turbines, lithium-ion batteries), robotics and precision agriculture notably.

The supervision of technical systems, also called fault detection and isolation, consists in detecting and localizing degradations at an early stage, to be able to plan maintenance operations in due time. Model-based and data-driven approaches are developed and suitably combined to reach appropriate performance for each application.

The research in the field of control aims at achieving high performance closed-loop control at low computational cost while enforcing operating constraints. It also includes distributed control of multi-agent systems.
